Genencor Given Frost & Sullivan 2009 New Product Innovation Award
Genencor, a division of Danisco A/S, is the recipient of the Frost & Sullivan 2009 New Product Innovation Award for Biomass Enzymes. The award was granted for Genencor’s Accellerase® product line, enzymes used to convert biomass into sugar, a critical step in the production of cellulosic ethanol and other advanced biofuels and biochemicals.
According to Frost & Sullivan, the Accellerase® product line provides feedstock and pre-treatment flexibility, better process economics, accessory products and versatility, which are all significant advantages that make it stand out from the competition.
Genencor supplies Accellerase® products as part of its dual strategy to drive forward the cellulosic ethanol industry, which includes its dedicated enzyme business, and its joint venture DuPont Danisco Cellulosic Ethanol LLC (DDCE), which develops and provides integrated technology packages for biomass ethanol production.
