Innovative Mobile Patient Warming System Launched by ThermoGear

PORTLAND, Ore., April 8 ThermoGear, Inc., based in nearby Lake Oswego, announced their innovative Chillbuster(R) Portable Patient Warming System has been introduced to the domestic healthcare industry by Minnesota based Ecolab, Inc. The patient warming system has been in use by the U.S. Military for several years.

ThermoGear’s president, Mel Campf said, “We are delighted Ecolab’s Microtek Division will be offering our mobile warming system to hospitals and clinics as well as emergency responders in the U.S.” The FDA approved system can be used by healthcare professionals to reduce the risk of hypothermia and associated patient complications. Consistent management of body temperature is critical before, during and after surgery.

Campf added, the warming system is fully functional, lightweight and compact with both battery and AC power operation. “This system has been used very effectively on the battlefield by our military surgical teams and in casualty evacuations including air and ground transport…it is comfortable for patients and relatively easy to use,” he said.

The Chillbuster(R) warming system includes single-use disposable blanket covers to avoid patient cross contamination. The cutting-edge, lightweight warming technology is designed as a rugged system for use in the field and in all types of healthcare facilities.

ThermoGear’s broader mission is applying advanced technology to warming devices in the healthcare, veterinary, recreational and sports related industries. Ecolab (NYSE:ECL) is a global leader in delivering comprehensive programs and services to the healthcare and hospitality markets in more than 160 countries.
