Perrigo Recalls Store Brand Acetaminophen Tablets

The Perrigo Company (Nasdaq: PRGO; TASE) has initiated a recall of certain store brand Acetaminophen 500 mg tablets. These Store Brand Acetaminophen Tablets are known to contain raw material (metal shavings) purchased from a third party supplier. These Store Brand Acetaminophen Tablets are sold for pain relief and to reduce fever.

John Hendrickson of Perrigo Consumer Healthcare recently said, “Our quality control systems noted trace amounts of metal particulate in a very small number of these caplet products…we are taking this measure to maintain the highest possible product quality standards for our retail customers…”

Perrigo has been telling its customers (retail stores and distributors) about this recall that affects 383 batches. They have also outlined steps the company will take to facilitate product replacement. Questions about this product recall should be directed to Perrigo’s Consumer Affairs Department.
