Seasoned Health Care Executive Brings New Focus to Kaiser Permanente’s Individual and Family Plans
Mitch Ross has joined Kaiser Permanente as Vice President, Kaiser Permanente Individual and Family Plans (KPIF).
“Kaiser Permanente Individual and Family Plans is an important business line and represents a tremendous opportunity for growth,” stated Lawrence B. Leisure, Senior Vice President, Sales and Account Management. “The experience and understanding that Mitch Ross brings to this market will maximize opportunities for Kaiser Permanente in this arena.”
Ross brings a wealth of highly relevant industry knowledge with more than twenty years experience in the health care industry, most recently as Blue Shield of California’s Vice President, Sales Distribution, where he oversaw all aspects of Blue Shield’s sales, retention and training strategies for their Individual, Small Group and Government Business Unit. Prior to that, he was Blue Shield of California’s Vice President of Individual and Family Plan Sales, and Director of Underwriting.
In accepting the position, Mitch Ross stated, “Kaiser Permanente has long been a leader in the individual and family plan market, providing access to affordable and high quality health care services for those not covered through an employer health plan. I am excited to join Kaiser Permanente at this time and look forward to contributing to the success of the KPIF line of business.”
Ross began his career in accounting and finance before moving into health care. His earlier health care roles included various leadership positions at Aetna, Prudential and CareAmerica, as well as with an online health care company. Mitch earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the University of California, Irvine, and his Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the Anderson School of Management at the University of California, Los Angeles.
