Walgreens’ Take Care Health Systems Acquires Perpetual License to Ethidium Health Systems Software
Company Secures Right to Use Software in Retail Clinics Nationwide
HUNTINGDON VALLEY, Pa., June 6 /PRNewswire/ — Ethidium Health Systems, a leading developer of clinical information management software and services, today announced that it has granted Take Care Health Systems, a wholly owned subsidiary of Walgreens Co., a perpetual, non-exclusive license to Ethidium’s patent-pending E-Health Platform(TM), Evolution EMR(R), and Evolution PHR(TM) software.
In support of Take Care’s vision of a high-quality, affordable, and accessible convenient care delivery model, Ethidium’s patient check-in kiosk and electronic medical record (EMR) solutions were deployed in Take Care’s retail pharmacy locations. As part of the deployment, and to enable distributed charge capture, Ethidium integrated its software with GE Healthcare’s Centricity(R) Group Management (formerly IDX(R) Groupcast(R)) product using the HL7 national standard.
“The successful deployment of Ethidium’s technology in a real-time, multi- site, multi-state retail clinic environment demonstrates the flexibility, scalability, and ease-of-use of Ethidium software,” stated Matias Klein, President and Chief Technology Officer of Ethidium Health Systems. “This transaction is a clear validation of the value of Ethidium’s intellectual property and its leadership position in the market,” stated Klein.
Ethidium’s E-Health Platform(TM) is a modular software framework that powers secure, next-generation clinical information management services. Organizations that license Ethidium’s E-Health Platform(TM) are able to build new solutions that extend the existing capabilities of Ethidium’s software.
